Digital Safety Resource

Join us in ending sexual and gender-based violence.

The digital spaces we use every day to learn, connect, express ourselves, and build communities can also become spaces where gender-based violence takes place.

Safe Click, Your Digital Safety is a practical training toolkit developed by ASVIOL Support Initiative under the Safe Click Project, with support from the MacArthur Foundation. The toolkit was developed as a training resource on online gender-based violence (OGBV) for students and peer educators.

Designed to make conversations about online gender-based violence practical and accessible, the toolkit equips students and peer educators with the knowledge and skills to recognise harmful online behaviours, understand their impact, respond safely, and support peer learning within their academic communities.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of the toolkit, readers should be able to:

  • Identify different forms of online gender-based violence in everyday digital spaces.
  • Recognise early warning signs and patterns of harmful online behaviours.
  • Understand the impact of OGBV on victims, including its academic, social, and psychological effects.
  • Respond safely and appropriately when online gender-based violence occurs.
  • Facilitate peer learning sessions and conversations on OGBV within their academic communities.

Who Is This Toolkit For?

The toolkit is particularly designed for students and peer educators who want to better understand online gender-based violence and contribute to safer digital environments within their schools and communities.

It can also serve as a useful resource for educators, youth advocates, civil society organisations, and others working to promote digital safety and prevent gender-based violence.

Through the Safe Click Project, ASVIOL Support Initiative is working to strengthen digital literacy, promote safer online spaces, and equip young people with the knowledge to recognise, prevent, and respond to technology-facilitated forms of gender-based violence.
