The Executive Director of ASVIOL Support Initiative, moderated an engaging breakfast debate panel session hosted by the french Embassy discussing the topic “What real accountability looks like in the fight against gender based violence “.
Also, as part of the 16 days of Activism, ASVIOL Support Initiative was one of the partners towards the launch of the ” GBV AVENGERS” educational game, an innovative tool designed to raise and combat gender based violence.
The 16 Days of Activism Picnic, organized by the ASVIOL Support Initiative and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, successfully brought together a diverse group of young executives and changemakers to address critical issues surrounding
Sexual and Gender- Based Violence (SGBV). This intimate gathering, held at Millennium Park in Abuja, served as a vital platform for exchanging insights, fostering collaboration, and enhancing advocacy efforts. The event underscored the importance of strengthening
partnerships between organizations working on SGBV and related issues, emphasizing synergy over competition in resource mobilization.
As part of the 2024 16 Days of Activism, ASVIOL Support Initiative, in collaboration with UN Women Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and Ford Foundation, held town hall meetings with five traditional leaders in the FCT to address Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and harmful social norms. The sessions fostered community-driven solutions and strengthened partnerships for GBV
prevention.

To conclude the 2024 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, ASVIOL Support Initiative, in collaboration with renowned Northern Nigerian musician Morell and the French Embassy, hosted a private screening of the documentary “UNSEEN SCARS” at the French Ambassador’s residence in Abuja. The event featured the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and other dignitaries, showcasing live music by Morell. The documentary highlights the various forms of violence faced by women, including sexual harassment, financial abuse, emotional violence, and physical violence, shedding light on hidden struggles and advancing advocacy against gender-based violence.
