Express Her Voice: Artivism For Change

As part of our ongoing efforts to address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), we launched an art competition tagged “Express Her Voice: Artivism for Change”.

This project was created during the 16 days of activism in collaboration with the Shehu Musa Yaradua Foundation and was supported by the French Embassy and Ford Foundation.

It aimed to demonstrate how art and storytelling can serve as a powerful tool for bringing about change and breaking the culture of shame and silence that often surrounds SGBV.

We received multiple applications, and three winners were selected at the end of
the competition. The top three finalists were awarded cash prizes for their outstanding contributions.

16 Days of Activism

ASVIOL's Executive Director moderated a breakfast debate panel at the French Embassy, discussing what real accountability looks like in the fight against gender-based violence.

Slum to Stage

On November 2nd, 2024, ASVIOL Support Initiative partnered with @slumtostage to deliver an art-based intervention at Durumi IDP Camp, addressing SGBV among displaced persons.

Nigerian Army training

In furtherance of our organization's dedication to combating sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), we collaborated with the Nigerian Army Women's Command to deliver a specialized training session.

Citizens Plenary in Partnership with AIT

ASVIOL Support Initiative, with UNFPA and AUN, held a three-day brainstorming session with women leaders from three Borno State communities to develop strategies addressing sexual violence.

Bricks Point Hotel Training

ASVIOL Support Initiative trained @brickspoint_asokoro staff on combating SGBV in the hospitality industry, equipping them to identify, prevent, and respond to incidents within their establishment.

Nimet training

ASVIOL partnered with @officialnimetng to train NiMet staff on addressing harassment and improving workplace dynamics, promoting respect, inclusivity, and zero tolerance for harassment.
